Smart Charging Challenge Hackathon: Solar Energy, Communicating Cars, Balance and User Experience in 2025!

In 2025 a million electric cars will drive around in The Netherlands. How will we charge all those cars? At The Smart Charging Challenge Hackathon we tried to find out in 2 days with very little sleep! Teams of Dutch designers, developers, city planners, business developers, data scientists, innovators competed in 4 challenges with 4 topics: (1) Linking solar energy at work/home to charging (2) Get vehicles communicate with eachother (3) Creating balance on the most local level possible (4) Improving user experience. Six teams won. I interviewed the winners and the organization about the solutions and the project!
